Romanian staff was great!
-
Romanian staff provided visunata, great help ID-ing finds, and didn’t harass us for singing.
-
Feminist trench! & Marius is awesome
-
Staff couldn’t answer all the questions I heard asked, but that’s probably because there were some really weird questions
Overall Comments:
-
Tasks were rotated, so I feel that I could gain experience in multiple areas of field work
-
Learning the full context of the site: historic technological, geographical, specific, dirt etc. +Field trips (Cigmau, reenactment, Alba Iulia, etc.) Also, we were included in every phase so that we understand how finds correspond to knowledge about the site. The lectures were varied and trench oconversations were also the bomb. We talked about all the things. And we laughed. And we cried. And had areally really really good time.
-
Being more involved w/ the locals and culture was fantastic (especially w/ Angie, Marius, etc.)
-
Learning new things is rewarding, and I got to test my theory that while low-alcohol drinks tend to make me sick (wine, beer, etc.) high alcohol ones don’t (palinka for the win)
-
First, I think I got lucky with this crew; couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming and intelligent group. Andre, J.P., and Alec were approachable and open to questions, answered thoroughly. I loved my host and I adored this village. This was a really rewarding experience.
-
The interactions with Romanian Archaeologists were very informative, it is great to be able to ask them about anything we might be wondering. The field trips were also fantastic.
-
More field directors to be able to instruct everyone on the site.Just one isn’t enough for so many trenches.
-
Max is the best dog. I am sad brobot didn’t want to be part of our group. Field trips and travelling was also so good! Helpful organized, informative, really cool, and so fun.
-
Cool rocks are cool
-
Thanks for the great five weeks!
